Drawing

Dani often uses mixed media to express herself through her own creative practice. She has used various materials, such as paper, card, wood, found objectives, plaster and polyfiller, to create personal art works. However, her creative process almost always begins with observational drawing. Through use of pencil, pen, inks and other drawing media she seeks to express ideas about the aspects of life that fascinate and inspire her.

In recent years, since becoming a mother for the first time in 2007, and again in 2009, she has reflected her emotional experiences and ideas through her art work. Her drawings have been a meditation on ideas about how maternal love is shown through carrying out repetitive domestic acts (such as the daily washing and hanging out baby socks) through to the deep satisfaction of watching your children sleep.
